CardiacStudy Player
Cath, Echo & CT DICOM Viewer
CardiacStudy Player opens patient CDs, DICOMDIR folders and loose DICOM files and plays every run the way it was recorded: angiography and fluoroscopy at their acquired frame rate, echo clips, CT and MR series, ECG and hemodynamic waveforms, and structured and PDF reports. It is made for cardiology teaching, case review and conference preparation.
Not for clinical use. CardiacStudy Player is not a certified medical device and must not be used for diagnosis or clinical decisions. Read and report from your clinical PACS or cath lab workstation.
Requirements
- macOS 15 or later
- Apple silicon or Intel Mac

Common questions
What can it open?
Patient CDs, DICOMDIR folders, folders of DICOM files and single DICOM files. The DICOM Conformance Statement lists every supported image type and compression.
Why does it ask me to choose a folder after I open a DICOMDIR file?
Mac App Store apps may read only what you choose. A DICOMDIR file only indexes the study; the images sit in the folders around it. The app asks once for the disc or folder that holds the DICOMDIR (it is already selected), so click Open. To skip this step, open the disc or folder itself instead of the DICOMDIR file.
Does it send my studies anywhere?
No. The app cannot use the network, and nothing leaves your Mac. See the privacy policy.
A study won't open, or something looks wrong
Email us with the modality (for example XA, US or CT), the equipment vendor if you know it, what you expected and what you saw. A screenshot of the app with patient details cropped out helps. Please never send patient images, discs or files that identify a patient.
